Over the past nearly two years we have all been through something the world has never seen and hopefully will never see again. So much has been brought to light. Our way of life has changed in a way that prevents it from ever going back to the way it was. During this time, I have gone through every emotion we, as humans, have. There was fear that turned to anger that led to rebellion that become dismissal that finally led me to the place I am now – peace. Love for life and my fellow man is now my battle cry. It has been a hard journey. We have all been shown things we didn’t believe could be real. We have learned things that we can’t forget. Now that we have experienced it all, a new reality is emerging. New Earth is here for those of us who are willing and able to experience it. The old world that was full of control and greed and power-hungry elites trying to keep us prisoners to their system is gone for me. It is no longer in my reality, therefore, it doesn’t exist for me anymore. It is a widely known fact that what we focus on becomes our reality. I am focusing on New Earth that was promised to us thousands and years ago. New Earth, where we are no longer driven by money and monetary pleasures is here. A place where we live in harmony with all beings. A place where we are focused on all of humanity, not just ourselves. We have come to learn that we are all connected to each other and to all living things on the planet. Our thoughts are powerful. We each have a choice each moment of our lives to choose which timeline we make our own. Rising above all the noise and hostility and anger and fear has been the greatest blessing of my life. Now, instead of striving every day to earn more and more money just to survive and just to turn over a large percentage of to the government, I now find solace in my home apothecary. Learning the ancient wisdom of the earth feeds my soul. Sharing my new found knowledge with other seekers brings great joy. I have been forever changed by what we have gone through so instead of hating the evil that resides in Old Earth for their attempts to defeat and control us, I thank them for illuminating the evil which then shed light on the new path. Only by seeing the evil are we able to decide to reject the old ways and move ourselves to a higher dimension.
The apothecary gives me so much peace. Becoming aligned with the energy of the plants of the earth has grounded me in joy. Using the blessings of the earth as God intended connects me to the higher source of divine energy. God gave us everything we needed to care for ourselves but we were robbed of the knowledge by the elites who only wanted to use us as their personal slaves. We lost touch with the earth and came to depend on their false gods of modern medicine and debt ruled banking systems. This was almost our downfall. Now a new horizon comes into view. We realize we have the power and the tools to heal ourselves, both body and soul. Now comes the time to utilize the gifts from God. With each day that passes, I find more ways to use the sacred plants to create perfect health for myself and those I love.
The powerful, healing elderberry, the nerve calming lemon balm and the immune building dandelion root are now my medicine. The vitamin D rich light from the sun, the lung clearing fresh air and the electrical connection of the ground strengthen me every day. No longer will I hide from the sun or keep my feet firmly on the concrete which separates me from the earth. I will revel in the glorious wisdom hidden in the plants and in the earth. I will seek out this wisdom day in and day out. No longer will I allow myself to be dependent on the government to provide for me. We will grow our own food and live off the land, We will be able to pull the clean, fresh water from deep in the ground. We will share our wisdom with all who seek. We are now the New Earth.
Good Morning friends and future friends! This has come into my soul over the past few days so strongly that I feel I have to record it. Because of what is going on around the world, I have become aware of how vast and deep the control factor is and has been for as long as I have been alive. Because it is something that we were born into and because it has progressively become worse and worse ever so gradually, we have not been able to see it. Now, I have become awake to the system as have millions of other souls here on planet earth. We truly have been slaves for hundreds, probably thousands, of years. Now, looking at every single aspect of our lives, I see clearly how many rules and procedures are in place to make sure we mere humans learn from birth to follow the rules, obey those we see as leaders and accept any and all limitations they put on us without question.
With the push for western medicine that started in 1913, the question of which came first, the chicken or the eggs comes to mind. Let’s just jump in somewhere so we can look at it. Before a child is born, the programming begins. The VAST majority of parents today would never ever consider going through a pregnancy without being lead by the hand by a “doctor”. Most would never ever consider giving birth outside of a hospital. Most would never ever consider raising a child without frequent “well child” checks. Most would never question that they have to produce a record of shots given to their child to go to school. As a result, our children grow up thinking that doctors are gods of some sort that must be listen to and followed without question. So the cycle is established and followed by the masses without question in a never ending assembly line. OMG!!! I gave up western medicine 5 years ago except in the case of life threatening trauma. Natural medicine was in place for tens of thousands of years until those who decided to enslave the people made it their goal to take over the world of medicine. If these self appointed gods can’t make profits from the ills of humanity, they will do everything in their power to eliminate the competition. Natural cures are now even made illegal because they can’t profit from something available from nature.
Beyond medicine, look at all the regulations put in place “for our own protection”. Most neighborhoods have lists of rules about how you can live in your own home. You can’t paint your home any color except those the housing gods have approved. You can’t change anything inside the home without using one of their approved contractors. You can’t park your cars in your own driveway if it doesn’t have their approval. Even though you own your home and pay taxes on the property every year, others are in charge of how you live in that home and what you do with that home. This all done to “protect home values”. Really? Or is it really just another way to program us to follow the rules and be good little pawns.
And then there are all the laws about the products and equipment we use. Every single aspect of our lives are regulated by the gods’ rules. We just blindly follow the rules without question. We are not able to use the baby bed past down to us by our parents for our own children because the bars are not exactly the right distance apart. It is illegal! We are not allowed to transport our children in a vehicle without following the god’s rules as to exactly how we do it. We are not allowed to have cars that are not equipped with the exact equipment the god’s tell us have to be in place. We have to register with the government at the time of birth so that they can issue us a number that we have to have in order to live our lives. We never ever think about not registering new born babies so that they can have the required birth certificate. We blindly sign our kids up with the government so they can have a social security number. Without that number, the child will not be allowed to live his or her own life.
We work at jobs to earn money to survive. Out of every paycheck, the gods collect their payment without us ever questioning it. We give up 1/3 of everything we earn to support the control the gods have over us. If our taxes were truly going to support a government that supported us over all else, it would be one thing but we have no idea where our money is going. We just blindly hand it over every single paycheck. The vast majority of our money is not going to serve we the people. It is going to the pockets of our jailers. They are rich beyond measure while we toil and struggle every day to make sure they are well paid.
Everyone who drives a car has to register that car every year for most. We have to have a license plate with a current registration marker on it or we can be arrested. Why? Why do we have to register our cars? So that the gods can have yet another way of tracking us? To make sure that we update our information with them in yet another way every year? If a police officer pulls up our license plate number, they instantly have all of our personal data at their finger tips. Have you thought about this? If an employer asks for your driver’s license number, they have access to all of our driving records for the past 20 or more years. Is this really any business of a potential employer? Why do we so readily provide all of this data to so many different people. Do you see the pattern of enslavement? When we do get the job, we have to provide our government registration numbers so that again, the government gods can track where we work, how much we work, how much we earn and how much they can take from us. Is this really any business of the government gods?
Now our banking is being tracked like never before. The banking gods have made it so convenient for us to carry little plastic cards with us that are tied directly to our bank accounts. Therefore, every single time we make a purchase, the banking gods and the government gods can track us. They know what we are buying, where we are buying it, how often we are buying it, etc. Is it really any of their business how much bread and milk we buy? Then, if we attempt to make a purchase they find outside our usual habits, they have the power to shut down our ability to make that purchase. Our cards can be locked in half a hot second. They say this is to protect us from fraud and I am sure this is the case to some degree, however, most of the time it is not. So, if our cards are so susceptible to fraud, why don’t they fix the system? Because, as long as they convince us they are looking out for our best interest, they can continue to track our every move. It’s insane!!
Let’s look at the insurance gods, starting with medical insurance. How is it even possible that an insurance company has the right to dictate to us and to our doctors what medical procedures we are allowed to have? For example, a hip replacement surgery will fix hip pain coming from a deteriorating hip joint that naturally comes with wear and tear and age. Hip pain usually starts 5 years before the insurance company will allow you to have a hip replacement surgery. Over the course of that 5 years, doctors will tell you to take more and more pain medication so that you can still participate in life. The pain continues to limit our ability to move about so the person will naturally take a seat on the sofa and turn on the television or computer. For five years, they become more and more sedentary to the point their health has deteriorated on all fronts. Then they will allow you to have the surgery. So, instead of taking a 60 year old, healthy, active person and doing the surgery in the beginning, they choose to take a 65 year old person who has been sitting for 5 years, had gained a lot of weight and has had muscle and general health decrease for the entire time. Which person would have the better surgery result? I think it is clear to see! I personally had this happen to me. The doctor informed me that my pain was from a deteriorating joint but I wouldn’t qualify for surgery until the joint was bone on bone because the insurance company would not approve it. When I asked if there was anything I could do to improve the joint, I was informed that there was nothing that could be done to reverse it and it would continue to get worse over time. Take as much liver and kidney damaging pain relievers as possible to relieve the pain and go sit down for a few years. Then we will talk again. Unbelievable!!
The saddest part of all of this is that we have just allowed it to happen to us without even questioning it. In many cases, we have been thankful that they are watching out for us. I am calling BS on all of it!! It is time to get out of prison and find our souls again.
This is nothing new. If we look back to biblical times, we see one group of people enslaving another group of people so the slaves could do all the work for the ruling gods. Who gave the ruling gods these positions of power? How have the ruling families around the world been in power for so long and who put them there in the first place? Who is controlling this matrix and how do we get out? I have done a lot of research and know some answers, but the ruling gods will not give up the slaves without a fight. We are in the fight right now. What we don’t see is that this is a spiritual war being fought in the spiritual realm. We that are here on the ground don’t realize we are in a war because nothing is getting blown up. The blow up will come and it is coming soon! Let’s pray we win and are set free from this horrible matrix once and for all.
Thanks for being here. Please like, subscribe and share so that we can get the message out to all who are still sleeping. This is the Great Awakening and we are the soldiers in this war.
Greetings my friends! It is such a blessing to have you with me today! Our world continues to get stranger by the day. It has become very evident that there may come a time in the near future when things like going to the grocery becomes nearly impossible. As the world situation has progressed, it has become increasing clear that if we are not able to provide for ourselves, we may not like what happens to us.
One of the easiest and most useful things you can do to start your self sufficiency journey is to learn to make sour dough bread starter. It takes a week to 10 days or so to get the starter to a point where you can start using it, but after that, it just continues to be useful almost indefinitely. With a productive starter, the recipes that use the starter are amazingly diverse. With a few simple pantry staples, you can provide your family with fresh baked breads and rolls of all types. I realize we don’t live by bread alone, but if you are finding it hard to purchase groceries, it will keep bellies full and energy up during hard times.
We will begin the starter process today and give you the instructions for a full week. I will be producing a video in a few weeks on the entire process from beginning to end. I will also be showng different recipes for the starter over the coming months. If nothing else, providing fresh, homemade bread will be a delight to you, your family and your friends. With the Holidays just around the corner, you can surprise your guests with a culinary delight you made yourself for all those holiday dinners and pitch ins. As we work our way through this process, you will see that if you wish to share your starter with others, there will be ample opportunities.
So, how does it work? The basic concept behind sour dough starter is that your mixture will start to attracted and feed natural yeast and good bacteria. These elements will grow as you continue to feed the mixture. When it is fully developed, it will contain enough natural yeast and bacteria to make your bread rise when you use it in a recipe. It is the good bacteria that will give your starter and your finished products that slightly sour twang you are looking for. It is a combination of the yeast and bacteria that will cause your bread to rise as both will produce carbon dioxide during the baking process increasing the height.
The most important parts are to use the same amounts of water and flour at the start and for all the feedings that follow. It is important that you use a clean jar every time you discard a portion of the starter and feed it more. The starter will produce acid as it comes along. This acid will kill off any harmful bacteria that comes along so it is unlikely that your starter will spoil. If you notice any kind of pink or orange colored growth, this indicates mold and the starter should be discarded and started again.
The water you use is vitally important. If you are on city water, the added chlorine will kill the active yeast and render your starter a dud. It is best to use bottled water in these cases or you can boil and cool the water to eliminate any chorine. OK! Let’s get started!
First, start with a clean, sterilized jar with a loose fitting lid or cheesecloth cover. NOTE: Use a jar or container that is large enough to double the beginning measure plus room for the mixture to double in size after feedings as things progress.
Day 1: Mix 1/2 cup of flour and 1/2 cup of water. Note: many people are very very fussy about this part. They insist on using a scale to measure exactly the same weight of water to the exact same weight of flour. If you don’t have this equipment, using equal measures of each has worked well for me in the past and is the method I still use. If you don’t get the results you want, you can try using the scale method. It is important to use equal measures all along the way. After you have mixed your flour and water, cover your jar loosely so that any gases that form are allowed to escape. Leave the starter in a room temperature (70 – 75 degrees) area for 24 hours.
Day 2: Add 1/2 cup of flour and 1/2 cup of water and mix thoroughly. Cover loosely and leave at room temperature for another 24 hours.
Day 3: REMOVE 1/2 of the starter. You can either use the discarded portion in another jar and continue with 2 jars, you can pass it along to a friend with instructions to keep it going or you can discard it. Add 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of flour to the remaining starter and mix well. Cover loosely and leave at room temperature for another 24 hours.
Day 4 through Day 10. Repeat day 3 process each day until the starter starts to smell like yeast bread and is fermenting nicely. You can check to see if your starter is ready to use by observing it to see if it doubles in size within 2-3 hours after you feed it.
When it is ready to use, you are ready to bake! If you are not ready to bake, you can refrigerate your started until you are ready. If you want to keep it going for a long time, it is best to feed it by repeating step 3 once a month or so.
If your starter is refrigerated and you want to use it, take it out of the refrigerator 3 days before you want to bake. When the starter is at room temperature, feed it at room temperature for 2 days. It will be refreshed and ready to go on the third day.
When you have taken out whatever amount you need for your recipe, reserve 1 cup of the starter and feed it again before returning it to the refrigerator.
AS I mentioned, we will be using this started over the next few months so stay tuned! Thanks so much for being here. If this has be helpful to you or if you know someone who might find this helpful, please like, subscribe and share! I look forward to being with you again next time when we make our skin healing and itch stopping lotion! Hope to see you there!
Oh My Goodness! We are going to splurge all over the place today with some amazing comfort food! We are going to make fresh dumplings with thyme, parsley and oregano added. We are going to set these amazing dumplings afloat in a sea of decadent, homemade, Alfredo sauce full of buttery garlic goodness and topped with additional oregano. This is a meal in itself; however, if you want to add a protein, go right ahead! Grilled chicken, shrimp, salmon or even meatballs just adds to the depth of deliciousness this dish offers you and whoever you choose to share it with. Ready? Let’s go on a gastro journey to soothe your soul.
Before we get to the recipes, let’s look at the health benefits of the herbs we are going to use today. It is amazing that the seasonings we use everyday offer so many benefits for what ails us!
Reduces heart attack risk
Stimulates the immune system
Reduces blood pressure
Ideal for deep seated chest infections
Relieves digestive distress
Helps with diarrhea
Calms a stomach ache
Loaded with vitamins and minerals
Supports healthy digestion
Has a diuretic effect
Protects against osteoporosis
Gives you fresh breath
Making dumplings is seriously one of the simplest things you can do. There is nothing much to it but the end results are fantastic! The recipe we are going to use today is as follows:
1.5 cups of all purpose flour
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried oregano
3 tablespoons of butter
3/4 cup of milk (or milk substitute. I will be using almond milk as cows milk does not agree with me.)
In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, thyme, parsley and oregano.
Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Gradually add the milk, using just enough to form a thick batter.
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough into simmering soup or stew. We are using homemade chicken broth. Cover and allow to cook for 15 minutes.
When the dumplings are cooked through, drain them in a strainer so they can be added to the fresh Alfredo sauce!
For our Fresh Alfredo Sauce, the recipe is as follows:
1 cup butter
1.5 tablespoons of minced garlic
3 tablespoon of all-purpose flour
1 quart of heavy cream
8 ounces freshly shredded Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon of oregano
Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Stir in the garlic and stir until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.
Stir in the flour and stir until the mixture is smooth.
Whisk in the heavy cream and whisk constantly until the mixture is hot and slightly thickened. This will take about 10 minutes.
Gradually stir in the Parmesan cheese. Do this slowly and with great presence. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth. This will take about 20 to 30 minutes.
When the sauce is complete, gently stir in the dumplings until well coated. Sprinkle some fresh parsley over the top if you so desire. Enjoy!!!
The number one secret to making amazing Alfredo sauce is to be totally present during the whole process. If you are rushed or feel like you are in a huge hurry, don’t make this sauce. If you are feeling anxiety, making this sauce can be very therapeutic. There is a lot of slow, steady stirring as you bring this sauce to the finished product. Slowing down and breathing to the rhythem of the slow stirring can be very effective in bringing down your anxiety level. Just breathing and being present while preparing food for yourself and those you love will bring such a sense of peace to your life. As you are stirring, think deeply about how you are adding love to the dish and how you are intending it to bring peace and harmony to the table. So many times in our hurry up world, we tell ourselves we don’t have time to cook food from scratch. I’m asking you to consider that maybe you don’t have time to not cook fresh food from scratch.
Thanks so much for being here today. Join me again on Thursday. We are going to prepare an insect repellant lotion that contains only health giving essential oils in a chemical free lotion base. The insect repellants you buy in the store are stuffed full of harmful chemicals and biting insects can carry illness and disease. Finding a healthy way to repel these insects is the ultimate goal. Don’t forget to like and subscribe! Until next time, stay free my friends
Good Morning Friends!! As promised, today we are going to start up cycling this fabulous, vintage wedding dress that was lovingly gifted to me by a very dear friend. This dress was her mother’s hand made dress from 1950. Having it in her closet was making her feel sad. She knew I would be able to turn it into something beautiful for someone else to enjoy. I am so passionate about this project for so many reasons! First, a little back story. I owned and operated a successful bridal boutique for 15 years. I sold gorgeous, new wedding dresses from all over the world. Over the years I watched the prices of dresses rise at an unbelievable rate. By the time I sold the business, I was starting to feel that the amount of money our brides were paying for weddings as a whole was getting totally out of control! These brides were under such pressure to have ALL the things in their weddings to make sure their peers would think they did it right. And let me say, the number of “requirements” was unbelievable! When my husband and I got married everything was so much simpler!!! and cheaper!
Lately, as we have been navigating this turbulent time in our history, I have started seeing things so much more clearly. We have been held hostage in a matrix for so long that we are not even aware that it exists! We are pummeled from all sides with pressure to be consumers and to consume more and more and more. The more money we spend, the richer our captors become. To be able to purchase all the things we have been lead to believe that we need to keep up with modern society, we have to work harder and harder. The more we work, the more taxes are collected from our paychecks which again adds to the coffers of our captors. As our unnatural desire for all the material possessions constantly increases, we have to work more and more hours. Now we have to have two incomes and we are still strapped all the time. As the feelings of being strapped get stronger and stronger, the more anxiety and fear we start experiencing. It is the most vicious circle imaginable! And we have been programmed to believe this is how we have to live our lives!!! It is all a lie!!!!
Another problem with our massive consumer habits is the amount of trash we are accumulating! We throw out an unbelievable amount of clothing every year. Sometimes we donate our unwanted clothing, which is a help, but the amount of fabric that is discarded every single year could easily clothe every single one of us! Now, I am not saying that I want to wear clothing that is outdated, but, for me, I have started a crusade to make all the things I need from recycled fabrics. For the whole year of 2022 I vow not to purchase any “new” fabric items. I will go to the donation centers and gather used fabrics to create what I want or need. I can guarantee you that the things I create will be amazing!!!!
I realize that sewing has become a lost art. This is another tool the ones who control the matrix have used against us. They have made it part of the program to have us choose not to learn the old skills that everyone had just a couple of generations ago. They have made it seem normal for us to not be able to take care of ourselves. We no longer know how to grow food, preserve food, make clothing or use herbal medicines! All we know how to do it to buy these things – which has led us down the path to more and more consumerism. Is this making any sense to anyone? The more we have to buy, the more money we have to make. Then we are back in the loop. We have to work more and more hours taking us away from our homes and our families to work for companies that can replace us at the drop of a hat! We have zero security that our jobs will be there for us when we need them! If we lose our jobs, we don’t have the skills needed to survive with less. Do you see the vicious circle? Do you see how dependent we have become on others to provide what we need to survive? Now is the time to start reclaiming our freedom from consumerism.
OK, time for me to get off of my soapbox and on to getting this vintage gown turned into something new and wonderful for less than $50.00 in supplies! This is just the first of many wedding gowns we are going to restyle on this channel. Wedding gowns are what I know and what I love so we are going to up cycle many of them. I don’t know who they will end up being for, but I feel confident the universe will bring the right bride to each dress we do.
Here are the quick sketches of what I have planned for this gown. It will be a two piece dress with just a thin strip of tummy showing. The beading at the top will be removed as it has become damaged over the years. I will also remove the sheer mesh at the top. The back will be opened up and will have a lace up, corset back added for a bit of that medieval look I love so much. Along the neckline Kevin and I will be pouring small, resin buttons containing tiny little flowers to include the treasures that nature provides. These decorative buttons will be added at 5 points along the top of the bodice and possibly down the corset back. The skirt will be turned into a fit and flare style skirt with a multi tiered lace insert down the back from the top of the thigh to the bottom. The top of the skirt will also be fitted with a corset closure. Before I insert the lace tiers in the back, I will be dip dying the different layers in an ombre of earthy greens. Also before I insert the lace tiers I will be dip dying the entire skirt and the lower half of the sleeves in a lighter shade of the earthy green. It will gradually fade from the ivory at the top to just the slightest tint of green on to a finished medium green at the very bottom. I have choses to use the little bits of nature in the buttons and the earthy green as I want to honor the earth and all she has provided for us through the entire time life has existed on this planet.
I know that one person deciding not to buy clothes for a year is not going to save the planet. Frankly, nothing we can do is going to save the planet. She will eventually take care of herself even if that means purging us from her surface. Reclaiming my personal freedom and showing others that it can be done might just save us from slipping further into the matrix. We might reclaim just a bit of the freedom we use to have.
Thanks so much for being here! Monday we will be back in the kitchen making herb dumplings and fresh Alfredo sauce. Next Saturday, when we get back to this wedding dress, we will be completing the deconstruction and getting the dress ready to put back together! I would love for you to join our tribe by liking and subscribing. Please share these posts with anyone you think might enjoy them.
Thanks again for being here and have a magical day!
Good Morning Friends! Our journey begins today. We are going to be creating 3 different types of herb infused honey. Two of these will be for flavor and one will be for medicinal use. The goal during this brief few minutes of time, we all leave behind the stress of our lives right now and feel the magic of honey. Our lives are out of control! Just for a few minutes, lets totally focus on the golden beauty of honey and contemplate how the magic of herbs can both add flavor to our foods as well as heal what ails us.
Here is your first little tidbit to investigate on your own. Herbal medicine has been around for over 10,000 years and was the only medicine available during that time. Herbal medicine is divine. Our beginnings were in a garden where the earth provided everything we needed to survive. Main Stream Medicine or scientific medicine has only been around for a little over 100 years. Those who promoted this form of medicine saw the opportunity to make obscene amounts of money from this new form of medicine when they were not able to profit from herbal medicine. They started the campaign to eliminate herbal medicine and to make people believe it was not real and only witches and snake oil salesmen would ever pursue herbal medicine when scientific medicine was available. I will leave links below so you can do your own research.
Anyway, we are going to make orange peel honey, hot pepper honey, and lemon ginger honey. Just think of all the beautiful flowers that go into making honey. Bees fly all across the landscape gathering the nectar of the flowers to create a perfect super food. Honey has over 600 health giving phytonutrients in it! Some of the benefits of eating honey are:
Honey helps regulate blood sugar
Honey is anti-bacterial
Honey is anti-fungal
Honey is a natural probiotic
Honey soothes coughs
Honey reduces ulcers
Honey helps heal wounds
Just two important points to remember about honey. It should not be given to infants under 1 year old and it should not be heated above 108 F. Above this temperature the honey is broken down into a glue like substance that is very hard to digest.
To make all of these infused honeys, we are going to add dried herbs to the honey, seal it up and let it sit for at least 2 weeks, preferably a month. After it has time to absorb all the herbal goodness, we will strain out all the herbs and decant our infused honey! For the orange peel honey we add several strips of dehydrated orange slices, peel and all, to a sterilized jar and cover with a mild to medium flavored honey. I have chosen Palmetto honey which I purchased from a local producer at our farmers market because it is produced locally in our area and has the desired mild flavor. If you choose a very strong flavored honey, it will overpower the subtle flavors of the herbs. The health benefits will remain but the flavor will not be as detectable. A few of the health benefits of orange peel are vitamin C levels that exceed that of the fruit, it has been said to help ward off cancer, improve lung health and aids in diabetes treatments. We want to make sure that we include as much of the dried peel as possible while still completely covering with the honey. I am using dried elements because sometimes adding anything that contains water can cause the growth of unhealthy things we don’t want in our final product.
For our hot pepper honey, I have dehydrated some of our locally grown hot peppers including the seeds. Again, we add enough of the dried peppers to loosely fill the jar while still be completely covered with the honey. When this is done infusing, there is nothing quite like the combination of hot and sweet. One of my favorite things to do with this mixture is to pour a good amount over the top of a block of cream cheese and use as a spread for crackers! It is SO good! Hot peppers also offer us a great deal of health benefits. Capsaicin is the most healthful element in hot peppers. It offers a wonderful anti-inflammatory effect which helps in pain relief. Hot peppers are also high in vitamin A, C and K. They are powerful antioxidants and have been reported to help ward off cancer.
Last but not least is our super therapeutic Lemon Ginger Honey. Again, we have dehydrated our lemons and the fresh ginger root. Loosely fill the jars with the dried lemons and ginger and cover completely. This blend is fabulous as a sweetener for any kind of tea, but it is also the most potent herbal medicine in our group of infused honey products. Just look at the health benefits of Ginger alone!
Ginger is an anti- inflammatory
Ginger is an immune booster
Ginger helps with colds and flu
Ginger helps with nausea and morning sickness
Ginger helps with indigestion
Ginger helps with pain
Ginger helps maintain a healthy cholesterol level
Ginger helps protect again Alzheimers Disease
Ginger is a powerful herbal medicine. All of these benefits have been well documented and the information is readily available to any who wish to search for it. The health benefits of lemons are almost as impressive.
Lemons boost the immune system
Lemons reduce phlem
Lemons support heart health
Lemons protect again anemia
Lemons aid in preventing kidney stones
This is a honey that is powerful medicine. It can be taken in 1/2 tsp servings several times a day during illness or it can also be used to sweeten tea. Either way offers the same therapeutic benefits without the harsh side effects of man made medications. God’s medicine is far superior to anything created in a laboratory!
Look how beautiful these jars of honey are!!! We are going to leave them in this window space for the next few weeks. When they are ready, we will come back to them and I will show you how to strain them and decant them for storage. While we wait, I hope you will take time every day to relax with a warm cup of tea sweetened with pure honey and contemplate how many wonderful things we have to be grateful for.
Because herbal medicines have been wrongly portrayed as somehow harmful and those who tell others about them as criminals, I am required by law to tell you I am not a medical doctor, I am not diagnosing any illness or disease and I am not prescribing any herbal medicines to cure any illness or disease. Hello my friends! Ahhh – so many questions today! This is not the blog post I had planned for today but one must listen to the calling of inner wisdom, that wee small voice in the back of the mind, that guides us.
So, the first question is “How Do You See Yourself?” If I put out a poll to 1000 people and those people were all 100% honest, the results would be that most people, especially women, see themselves in some sort of negative way. “I’m too fat. I’m too skinny. I’m too tall. I’m too short. I have an ugly nose. I have an ugly body. I’m socially awkward. I’m a nerd that nobody likes. I’m so weird nobody could ever love me. I’m not smart enough to ever be successful.” And on and on and on! Why? Why do we do this to ourselves? Believe me, I have done it to myself my whole life. I always saw myself as an awkward, oddball, misfit who somehow didn’t deserve to be successful in life even though I owned my own business that was hugely successful. No matter how successful the business became, I always thought it wasn’t good enough which translated to I wasn’t good enough. Oh, I put up the good front. I acted self confident and happy about things but inside was a different story. I felt like I had this beautiful, creative, joyful soul deep inside me that had been beaten into submission through the life experiences we all go through. You know, the failed tests, the undone homework, the failed relationships, the lost jobs, the cruel comments from others, the embarrassing mistakes that make you want to die, the financial failures, etc. These are the things we fixate on our whole lives instead of focusing on all the successes we have had in life. We forget about the awards we won, the people we helped, the children we shaped, the unbelievable hardships we overcame. Believe me, I understand!
But then something miraculous happened. One of the two or three people in the world who knows me all the way to my soul gave me a birthday card. On the front of the card was a picture of the most adorable, joyful, little girl I had ever seen. Then my friend said to me, “that picture is SO YOU!” My friend of 45 years who has seen me through the good, the bad and the ugly, didn’t see the weird, broken, misfit me that I saw. In her eyes, I was this joyful child on the card! At that instant, something deep inside me shifted. She didn’t see the failed human me, she saw my soul. My soul awakened and felt safe to come to the surface. Then I had to ask myself a question. If she saw me in this way, was it possible that others in my life saw me differently than I saw myself? After a lifetime of assuming others saw me as the awkward, oddball, misfit, was it possible that others actually saw my good qualities? I started to believe it might be possible! What a great feeling! Could this also be true for you? Is it possible that those close to you have never ever seen you as the failed and flawed being you see yourself to be? Could it be that they see you for who you really are – a divinely created soul? I absolutely believe this is true for you! I absolutely believe that the “you” you see and the “you” they see are two entirely different versions of yourself. They see you for all your goodness and kindness and pure love. How wonderful would it be if you were able to see yourself through their eyes? Maybe its time to try!
All of this brings us to the final question: Why do you care how other people see you? Because the truth could set you free! How many years have you assumed that everyone around you sees you exactly as you see yourself? How life changing would it be if you came to believe that all those around you actually see you for who you really are under the damaged outer layer? What if those around you never judged you for the test you failed that they didn’t even know about or that time you fell down in public and everyone laughed? What if they forgot that ever happened or what if they did remember it happened but they also remembered the way you laughed together as they helped you to your feet? What if all the things you have been beating yourself up about for decades never even made it to the memory banks of those who love you? What if they remembered the time you stopped the car and ran to move a turtle out of the path of traffic? What if they remembered how you stood up for the child who was being bullied in school? What if they remembered the time you sat with them all night after a painful breakup? Why do you care? Because maybe they can see the real you and knowing that could change everything!
My challenge to you is to ask those closest to you what memory about you stands out most in their minds. Ask those close to you what qualities they see in you. Ask them how they see you. It might just change your world!
Thank you so much for being here!!! I look forward to being with you again in a couple of days.
Oooooo! Such a good card today!! Welcome back faithful friends! Today is day 9 of 78 as we work our way through the Tarot deck. For those who find the Tarot a bit of a conflict with your religious training, rest assured, I am using them for inspiration and always tie them back to lessons from God ! If you have ever received a message from the Divine through something someone said or through a song or even a billboard along the highway, you know God uses whatever he needs to use in order to speak to us.
The card that presented itself today is the Four of Pentacles. It shows a successful merchant with a satisfied smile on his face proudly holding all four golden shields in his arms close to his heart. A clear, starlit sky behind him gives us the feeling that all is well with the merchant. His robe is deep purple trimmed in gold, yet another indication that he has done very well for himself financially. His posture is straight and tall but not overly proud. This man is feeling very secure in his position. Isn’t this what all of us want out of life? Don’t we want that feeling of safety and security in our financial life? For me, this has always been my primary goal; however, I now see a problem could be waiting ahead.
Just imagine what decision this merchant would be face with if God put a new and wonderful opportunity in front of him. What if he were handed the reigns of a beautiful horse that would take the merchant to distant, enchanted lands? Or what if a beautiful maiden whom he had been admiring from afar came to him and offered him her hand so that they could walk together on the moonlit beach? In order to take the reigns of the horse or the hand of his true love, he would be forced to let go of his tight grasp on the shields causing them to fall to the ground.
Does our desire for wealth and financial security sometimes lead us to cling too tightly to our material wealth at the expense of giving up new adventures and possibilities? There is a very well known parable in the Bible that come to mind. It is the story of the rich man who wants so much to keep all his rich harvest for himself instead of sharing with his brother. When his harvest was too much for his barns to hold, when he had more than enough for himself, instead of giving to others, he tore down his barns and built bigger ones. The day the bigger barns were completed and his harvest safely secured, the man died. What good did it do for the rich man to hoard all his earthly wealth?
We must be responsible and put back enough so that we can support ourselves when we reach the time we are unable or unwilling to work any longer. The question is this: How much is enough? At this very moment I know of a couple facing this decision. Path one is years and years more of work doing a job that stressful and unfulfilling but at the end of those years the payoff will be huge. Path two is to get out early and live a fantasy life aboard a sailing vessel for ten years dropping anchor at whatever exotic location they choose. The payoff for path two is not as rich, but it is enough to live their dream life as long as they live a bit more frugally! Staying on path one and working another 10-15 years will put them at an age where taking off on a boat will not be as feasible. So, do they give up the security of greater wealth later in life or do they give up the dream life? This is the dilemma.
This is where our faith is called into focus. Do we put our faith in our ability to accumulate material wealth or do we put our faith in God and trust that he will provide the opportunities we need to make money when we really need it? What is more important? Do we take a leap of faith and live a dream life or do we stick to the drudgery of working until we die? The choice is always ours to make.
Looking back at our lives, Kevin and I made the decision to let go of the security and take a leap of faith to live our best lives. We have never been rich financially and never will be, but we have always had enough and we always will. If I compare sitting on a secluded beach with great friends to sitting in an office pouring over financial spreadsheets, I know that letting go of the security was the best decision we ever made!
What grand adventure would you love to have? How much is enough to make that dream come true? When old age comes and options for the grand adventure are gone, will you be happy with the choices you made? The answers will be different for everyone. I would LOVE to hear what your grand adventure is! What would you love to do more than anything else in life? Please share!
Welcome back! Today is day 8 of 78 as we traverse the Tarot deck. The card I drew for today is the Three of Swords. It is a very powerful card to look at. We see a human heart in the center of the card being pierced by three swords. On the front of the heart is a large emblem of the sun. In the background we see stormy skies in the lower half of the card but we see the skies clearing in the top half of the card. So what does it all mean?
The number 3 in numerology is the most joyful number to me. It is a powerful number in many religions and is part of the ratio that makes up sacred geometry. The entire universe works around the number 3 and numbers evenly divisible by 3. The fact that it is a joyful number is important when we analyze this card.
By the time any human reaches adulthood, it is inevitable that his or her heart has been attacked, hurt or even broken – sometimes multiple times. This card indicates that there could be another such attack coming up or that has recently happened. It can also indicated a painful separation of some sort such as someone being called away for a length of time due to work or school. It can also indicate a divorce or death.
The positive side of this card comes through when we see that despite the swords going through the heart, the heart has the emblem of the sun on the front. This means that the sun will shine on the situation again – that the human heart is strong enough to get through the present difficulties. This is further shown by the clearing skies overhead. Whatever the storm was, is, or will be is below the heart. The heart will rise above it and the skies above will clear once again.
Let’s face it, life on planet earth is hard! So many times we are left crushed and sobbing on the ground. Believe it or not, going through the hard times is part of the purpose of our lives here on Earth. It’s when we are knocked to our lowest that God can raise us to our highest. We are reminded of this truth in the Bible in Ecclesiastes 3-1:8. This is such a widely known verse telling us there is a time for everything under Heaven. This just shows us that there is a time for all the painful situations, but there is also a time for renewal and healing. We have all gone through things that make our hearts physically hurt. We feel like there is no way to recover from the pain, that life will never be the same again. Part of that is sometimes true. Often when something exceptionally painful happens such as the death of a spouse, we may get to a point in the future when we will feel joy again, but our lives will never return to the way they were in the past.
Sometimes never being the same again is a good thing! If life gets stagnant or too comfortable, we can rest assured we will be shocked out of our comfort zones. Sometimes these shocks are swords through our hearts. Sometimes it takes something extremely powerful and painful to get us to move to the next level. If we are able to grow from our heartbreaks and learn lessons, we can look back at the pain as a blessing in disguise. If we allow the pain to drag us down to a place we never rise up from, we fail to grow and progress in our spiritual walk.
The path forward is never a straight line. There are ups and downs all along the way. If we are going to reach our ultimate destination which, to me, is raising to higher spiritual levels, we have to go through the good and the bad. Without the bad, how can we be grateful for the good? We can’t. We can’t understand darkness without understanding light. We can’t understand happy if we don’t understand sad. In this life of duality, it is the opposites that give each other meaning. The same is true of heartbreak. When we can contrast how horrible the heartache felt to how exhilarating the joy felt, the joy feels so much more delicious. When we finally get to the higher ground and can look back at the hole we were in, we can feel so proud of the progress we made! Yes, it sucked being in the hole, but how amazing is the joy that came from rising above the hole – from being IN the hole to becoming WHOLE. What a journey!
No matter how many swords your heart has endured, don’t ever give up! “This too shall pass” is one of the most valuable pieces of wisdom we can ever learn. If you are in a hole, you look up at that blue sky overhead and figure out a way to get back to the sunshine! You are strong enough to withstand the storm and God will always be there to pick you up when you ask him.
Thanks so much for being here! I look forward to being with you again tomorrow as we pick a new card to investigate.
As I quickly approach my 60th birthday I have taken some time to reflect on my life. What an amazing journey it has been so far and I TRULY feel THE BEST IS YET TO COME!
With age comes a little bit of wisdom. These are some of the things I have learned so far:
Doing something that brings you joy is more important than the size of the paycheck.
The body we live in is only a space suit – it does not define who we are in our souls.
Learning that “This Too Shall Pass” makes it easier to weather the storms that will come to all of us.
Having faith that God can handle the situation without my help is HARD!!
Defining people by their Job Title, how much money they have or by the status symbols they own is wrong.
Re-hashing the injustices we experienced in our past robs us of the joy we could be experiencing today.
Going through life with a true soul mate by our side whom we love deeply makes everything better.
There is wonder and joy all around us if we only make the effort to see it.
It’s OK to let your weird self out in the open for all to see. Your tribe will find you when you are authentic.
Finding something to be truly grateful for every single day brings out the sweetness in life.
I am grateful for all the experiences I have had so far in my life. I am so grateful that for over half of my life I have had the divine miracle of going through life with my soul mate. We have weathered some horrible storms but we have also experienced the joy of seeing the sun come out again. Our joyful times far outweigh the our times of strife. Now we have reached the golden time in our lives when we can reap all that we have sown. After actively raising children in our home for 35+ years, we are rapidly approaching the time when it will just be us again. Our youngest is 19 and is finding his own path. All three of our kids are happy, safe and living their own forms of bliss. Seeing them like this is a gift beyond compare. What a joyful time lies at our feet! We have lived through a lot, learned a lot and loved a lot. I am eternally grateful for all of it!
While this is a very rewarding time in our lives, it is also a time of great transformation. What do we do now? What is next on our path? It has taken us quite a lot of time pondering this monumental question. There have been a few false starts, some backtracking, some map reading and some prayers, but we finally seem to be on the same page. We are ready for our next great project. What’s it going to be? All I can say right now is that it is going to be full of magic and adventure and wonderment and weirdness and joy. Hopefully you will want to come along for the ride!
